Makita Bond
Born and raised in Queens, NY, Makita has always been a force to be reckoned with. She started her career in front of the camera, interviewing leading Hip-hop and R&B artists such as Chris Brown, Trey Songz, Angie Stone, and Wendy Williams, to name a few.
Makita quickly moved on to being the NY Lottery girl, rubbing shoulders with her famous co-worker Yolanda Vega. She has always been told she was “A Diamond In The Rough,” meaning she would be priceless with a bit of polishing. She prides herself on being the girl next store with the no filter, no-nonsense, straight-talk appeal. She connects with all women of all ages and wants every woman to feel as confident and put together no matter their circumstances. In 2010 Makita took advantage of the opportunity to work behind the camera. She has worked for some award-winning shows, including Dr. Oz and Anderson Cooper.
In 2012 she transplanted to Los Angeles to work on The Jeff Probst Show. She worked in production for The Real” and “The Talk,” which led to a job as a producer on an Emmy Award Winning hit T.V. show, Judge Judy.
She is always sawed out by family, friends, colleagues, and sometimes strangers for lifestyle advice. She has recently found herself back in front of the camera, giving lifestyle and fashion tips on Los Angeles’s most popular news program, KTLA morning news at 10. Makita believes that every woman should dress in anticipation of who and where she wants to be. You are your business card.
With all that, she inspired others. Makita was diagnosed with a brain tumor which changed her life forever. After having a cancerous tumor removed from her brain, radiation, and chemotherapy treatment. Makita, voices defined that life is truly worth living. Makita has penned her first book basis on her journey and Recovery from Cancer. Now in remission, she is truly a champion for cancer survivors. She is now an ambassador for this disease that tries to define and limit her abilities for the greater good she has to give in her community and worldwide.
